On Sunday 22nd July 2007, as part of the unique Brighton Sunny Day Renewable Energy Event, the world famous London to Brighton renewable energy car rally will be taking place.

The rally is being staged by members of the Battery Vehicle Society www.bvs.org.uk who will leave the start-line in London and drive all the way to the Village Square, Brighton. The Rally will culminate in a Funkadelic Family Open Day celebrating Solar Energy and will take place from 12noon to 6pm. Howard Johns from Southern Solar will be our resident DJ (all electricity supplied from Solar power) and JUICE FM will be boogying on down to the Marina too.

This will be a Free Public Event – yes, you did read it right, Free – and it will be a variation on the theme of Brighton Sunny Day 2004, 2005 & 2006 events featuring a number of exhibition vehicles, green & renewable energy product stands, information points, a medley of resident ‘experts’ to probe, and a smattering of local big-wigs and politicians to debate with.

Local ‘green’ clubs and societies as well as some strange folk from further a field (Click here for a list of Organisations & Individuals confirmed so far) are expected to attend to raise the profile of current green issues such as Climate Change.

This groundbreaking universe-shaking event has been organized by Brighton Solar Projects and is being supported and facilitated by Brighton & Hove City Council who will be on hand for advice and information on grant schemes for energy efficiency measures in the home. The Brighton Sunny Day event has become established over recent years as the leading Free Annual Public Event in Brighton & Hove promoting ‘green’ issues.
